About the Program
Golf is generally considered an elite sport. As an effort to stimulate students' interest—as well as the general public's—UiTM Negeri Sembilan Sports Unit is planning to carry out various sports-related activities among students and to attract public interest in the sport of golf.
This proposal aims to inform about the initiative by the UiTM Negeri Sembilan Sports Unit to organize the Malaysia Varsity and Youth Golf Championship (MaVYG Inaugural 2024/2025) — MINISTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION TROPHY, as an approach toward the excellence of golf sports specifically, and as a platform for community networking.
Additionally, it is also an effort to enliven campus life and to bring the campus community into the mainstream of national development, in line with UiTM's goal of producing well-rounded graduates and youth.
This sports-based approach can strengthen and empower the value system and orientation within the campus community, and in turn, provide opportunities for students especially, to develop a strong sense of identity for themselves and their generation.
Objective
This program aims to uncover the talents of students to highlight their potential in sports, specifically in golf to be showcased in other tournaments. It seeks to develop students and youth who are capable of planning and implementing the management of an organization. The program exposes students and youth directly (hands-on) to real-world situations in the aspects of organizational and event management. It also aims to create a healthy environment for students and youth while fostering a spirit of perseverance, tolerance, mutual understanding, and teamwork. Furthermore, this program helps build self-quality, moral values, and physical well-being, as well as provides an opportunity for interaction among different groups, both students and youth, to create a healthy network.
